Physical Education
We want Woodside children to participate in a wide range of sports and physical activities which enhance their physical and emotional wellbeing, and give them the foundations for positive lifestyles for the rest of their lives. Woodside children participate in lessons with a sports coach and in competitive sports tournaments enabling them to develop as sports leaders, team players, and to strive for personal improvement. In line with the National Curriculum for PE, our intent is that all children:
- develop competence to excel in a broad range of physical activities
- are physically active for sustained periods of time
- engage in competitive sports and activities
- lead healthy, active lives

How we teach physical education at Woodside
This has been developed with reflection upon the National Curriculum (2014) and Get Set 4 PE
Our Nursery and Reception staff work closely with subject teams to ensure our curriculum is carefully planned from Nursery through to Year 6.
